Hamden Residents Urged To Report Damage From Flooding

HAMDEN, CT — Hamden residents are being asked to report damage from Sunday’s flooding event through the Connecticut Division of Emergency Management and Homeland Security’s CrisisTrack Damage Self Report.

In an update on Thursday, fire officials said the Connecticut Division of Emergency Management and Homeland Security has “continued to document damage from Sunday's sudden and intense rainfall.”

“There were no reported injuries or fatalities, but there is widespread reported damage to finished basements, including HVAC systems,” reads a post on the Hamden Fire Department’s Facebook page. “Here is the latest:

“> More than 1,300 households and businesses have submitted damage reports through the Crisis Track portal.

“> A DEMHS team is reviewing all submission to asses the severity of reported impacts.

“> A detailed "Public Assistance Initial Damage Assessment" is underway to determine eligibility for assistance from the Federal Emergency Management Agency. Reaching the threshold for federal assistance is unlikely.

“It is important to document your damage from Sunday’s storm.”

The information reported to the survey will be used to determine if the state is eligible for any post-disaster programs through FEMA and/or the Small Business Administration.
