National Higher Education Leader Lynn Pasquerella to Speak at Quinnipiac University on Wednesday, Aug. 12

HAMDEN, Conn. — Aug. 5, 2026 — National higher education leader Lynn Pasquerella, president of the American Association of Colleges & Universities (AAC&U), will visit Quinnipiac University, 275 Mount Carmel Ave., on Wednesday, Aug. 12, to present the talk, "From Curriculum to Career: Preparing Students for the Jobs of the Future."

The public lecture will begin at 11 a.m. in the SITE Auditorium and is part of the Quinnipiac College of Arts & Sciences' Distinguished Speaker Series. The event is free and open to the public.

Pasquerella will examine the rapidly evolving landscape of higher education and explore how colleges and universities can prepare students for careers that may not yet exist. Drawing on her national leadership in higher education, she will discuss career readiness, the value of a liberal arts education and the skills students will need to thrive in an increasingly complex workforce.

"Lynn Pasquerella is one of the nation's most respected voices on the future of higher education," said Adam Roth, dean of Quinnipiac's College of Arts & Sciences. "Her thoughtful leadership has helped shape conversations about preparing students for lives of purpose, meaningful careers and engaged citizenship. We are honored to welcome her to Quinnipiac and look forward to an engaging discussion about how colleges and universities can best equip students for the opportunities and challenges ahead."

Since 2016, Pasquerella has served as president of the American Association of Colleges & Universities, the nation's leading association dedicated to advancing the democratic purposes of higher education by promoting equity, innovation and excellence in undergraduate education.

A philosopher and nationally recognized higher education leader, she previously served as president of Mount Holyoke College, provost at the University of Hartford, and held senior academic leadership positions at the University of Rhode Island. Her scholarship focuses on ethics, public policy, academic freedom and the role of higher education in a democratic society.

The Distinguished Speaker Series brings nationally recognized scholars, thought leaders and public intellectuals to Quinnipiac to engage students, faculty, staff and community members in conversations about issues shaping society and the future of higher education.
