Road Closure Announced In Hamden
Police announced a road closure that will be in effect for a "Bike and Roll to School Day" event that will be held in Hamden.
HAMDEN, CT — A temporary road closure will be in effect on Wednesday, May 6 for a “Bike and Roll to School Day” event in Hamden, according to police.
A 1-mile portion of Still Hill Road from West Todd Street to Johnson Road will be closed from 7:30 a.m. to 8:15 a.m. and from 3:45 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. for the event.
“This temporary closure is being implemented to support students and families of West Woods School participating in the annual ‘Bike and Roll to School Day,’” police wrote in a news release. “The event encourages active commuting while fostering community engagement and school spirit.”

Participants will gather at the Johnson Road Firehouse before biking to West Woods School. Following the school day, families are invited to “stroll” along the Grace Trail as part of the celebration, according to police.
“Hamden Police Officers will be present throughout the event to ensure safety, assist with traffic control, and participate in the activities,” police wrote. “Local residents will still have access to their homes during the closure.”
