Female Motorist Hit By Stray Bullet In Hartford: Police

Hartford police are investigating a shooting that injured a woman in her 30s who was likely not the intended target.

HARTFORD, CT — Hartford police are investigating a non-fatal shooting that injured a woman in her 30s while she was driving on Main Street.

According to the Hartford Police Department on Monday morning, officers responded to the area of 1545 Main St. after receiving a ShotSpotter notification indicating possible gunfire.

When officers arrived, they found a female victim suffering from a non-life-threatening gunshot wound, police said.

Emergency medical personnel transported her to an area hospital for treatment.

According to a preliminary investigation, the woman was operating her vehicle at the time of the shooting and was likely not the intended target.

The Hartford Police Major Crimes Division and Crime Scene Division responded to the scene and have taken over the investigation.

The shooting remains an active and ongoing investigation.
