Hartford Woman Dead After Hit-And-Run Motorcycle Crash: Police

HARTFORD, CT — Hartford police are searching for a three-wheeled motorcycle that fled after striking and killing a pedestrian on Albany Avenue Tuesday night, authorities said.

Officers responded to the area of 580 Albany Ave. at about 9:21 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 29, following a report of a serious crash involving a motorcycle and pedestrian, according to Hartford police.

Police found a woman in the roadway suffering from serious injuries.

She was taken to an area hospital, where she later died.

Police identified the woman as Deborah Cooper, 56, of Hartford.

Investigators said the motorcycle that struck Cooper left the scene before officers arrived.

Police described it as a black and red Can-Am Spyder and said it fled north on Irving Street.

Detectives with the Hartford Police Crime Scene Division are investigating the crash.
