HHC Completes Acquisition of Eastern Connecticut Health Network from Prospect Medical Holdings

Manchester Memorial Hospital and its Rockville Campus Become Part of Hartford HealthCare

Hartford, Conn. December 31, 2025 — Hartford HealthCare today announced that it has completed its acquisition of Eastern Connecticut Health Network, including Manchester Memorial Hospital and its Rockville campus and its community and ambulatory services, from Prospect Medical Holdings, Inc.

The official closing for the transaction completes a months long process during which Hartford HealthCare was named the sole bidder and buyer of the healthcare operations that serve the greater Manchester and Vernon area and beyond and received state approval to complete the ownership transition.

  • and make strategic investments in people, programs, technologies, facilities, and community partnerships.

Hartford HealthCare has named Dr. Adam Steinberg as President of the newly established Greater Manchester Region of Hartford HealthCare. Dr. Steinberg previously served as Vice President of Medical Affairs and as a trusted leader at Hartford Hospital for nearly two decades.

“I am humbled and honored at this exciting opportunity to lead this new region, and advance high-quality care,” said Dr. Steinberg. “On every metric — quality, safety, clinical outcomes, financial stewardship, community partnership, innovation and expertise — Hartford HealthCare is differentiated as a leader within the nation and the Northeast. In addition to the $86.1 million purchase price for the facilities, Hartford HealthCare will invest an additional $225.7 million into the Greater Manchester Region.

Hartford HealthCare’s plans for the Greater Manchester Region include:

  • The extension of Hartford HealthCare’s Institute model with expertise for specialty services (behavioral health, cancer, digestive health, heart and vascular, neuroscience, orthopedics, urology and kidney)
  • Recruitment of new clinicians to address gaps in care and services
  • Investments in vascular and orthopedic surgical services, and development of an inpatient rehabilitation unit
  • Additional oncology and diagnostic imaging services
  • The addition of high-quality and cost-effective ambulatory care options
  • Investments in inpatient and outpatient behavioral health services
  • Availability of 24/7 virtual primary care every day of the year.
