At least 53 events are reportedly planned across Connecticut as part of the fourth nationwide No Kings day of action since Trump began his second term in January 2025.
The events are scheduled two days before early voting begins in Connecticut on Monday, Oct. 19. Election Day is Tuesday, Nov. 3.
Focus Shifts To Voter Participation
The Oct. 17 event is being promoted nationally as "No Kings: Vote Early," with organizers describing it as a day of nonpartisan voter participation.
According to the movement's organizers, events will help eligible voters make voting plans, understand their options, and participate in the upcoming election.
The movement also continues to oppose what organizers describe as authoritarian policies and actions by the Trump administration.
The organizing effort includes advocacy and labor organizations such as Indivisible, the American Civil Liberties Union, the 50501 Movement and the American Federation of Teachers.
AFT Connecticut has announced its participation, saying the demonstrations will focus on voter registration, civic participation and democracy.
Previous No Kings demonstrations have drawn large crowds in Connecticut and across the country.
Organizers say millions have participated nationally since the movement began in 2025.
Participants have raised concerns about immigration enforcement, economic conditions, government accountability and other Trump administration policies.
The White House and supporters of the administration have defended its immigration and economic policies, while critics have challenged their effects on communities and households.
