• Swift House Committee assesses architect's cost estimates (kentdispatch.org) — Kent’s Swift House Special Investigative Committee is trimming nearly $800,000 to $930,000 from an architect’s $2 million renovation estimate as it works toward an ADA-compliant, publicly usable historic building. Members are reconsidering ramps, windows, heating, electrical service, and interior work to preserve the Maple Street landmark’s character while keeping costs near $1.45 million before reporting back to Selectmen by Sept. 24. 
• Tobin Preserve Species Identification Walk is Saturday (kentdispatch.org) — Kent Land Trust is inviting residents on a guided species identification walk at Tobin Preserve this Saturday at 9 a.m., with interns leading exploration of local plants and wildlife. Participants are encouraged to bring binoculars, arrive a bit early, and follow detailed Route 7 and Dugan Road directions from Kent to reach the preserve’s parking area.
