MANCHESTER, CT — A complicated business situation in Manchester has turned into a movement to get rugs to those in need.
Faysal Koten said a few years ago, he purchased about 300 brand-new area rugs for a U.S. retail business.
A new twist (I had to return to my home country, but then came back," he said) left the the rugs remained unused in storage in Manchester.

Koten is now organizing a project "to get them into households that could benefit."
He continued, "Two Connecticut organizations have expressed interest and indicated that pickup could be possible. They are reviewing the rug catalogue; quantities and collection dates have not yet been confirmed."

To help the cause, a GoFundMe campaign is seeking support for storage, handling, transport, and distribution, as well as reimbursement for part of Koten's original purchase investment.
Both purposes are disclosed on the campaign page:

Said Koten, "I would like to give them a new purpose by getting them into homes where they can be appreciated and put to use. First, I need to access the inventory, arrange handling and transport, and connect with organizations or community contacts who can help identify households that could benefit. These arrangements are still being developed. I will share confirmed partners and distribution progress as the work moves forward."
