Halloween Store To Again Transition Into Christmas Store In Manchester (patch.com) — Manchester shoppers can look forward to Spirit Halloween at 241 Buckland Street transforming into Spirit Christmas this November, bringing a wide range of holiday décor, clothing, and stocking stuffers. The pop-up will also feature the Candy Cane Express, an interactive Christmas train station with popular animatronic characters for families to enjoy while they browse.
   

2. Manchester's Adelbrook Academy Receiving $1.5 Million In Additional State Funding (patch.com) — Manchester's Adelbrook Academy is receiving an additional $1.5 million in state funding, boosting the total investment in its expansion to $2.5 million and enabling construction of new classrooms and therapy spaces. The project will expand services for local students with autism and other special needs, add about 30 seats, and create nearly 30 new jobs in Manchester while supporting districts across Connecticut.
   

3. Manchester Native Named New Public Works Director (patch.com) — Manchester residents have a new public works director, as hometown native Mark Rizzo is officially taking over leadership of the department that maintains local roads, buildings, and infrastructure. With years of experience in Manchester and nearby Vernon, plus military service, he plans to focus on infrastructure, public safety, and day‑to‑day municipal services that residents rely on.
   

4. CT man convicted of bringing minor to apartment under false prentices, sexually assaulting them (courant.com) — A Manchester man has been convicted in Hartford Superior Court of sexually assaulting a juvenile he lured to his apartment, following an investigation by Manchester police. Jurors found him guilty of multiple charges, including second- and fourth-degree sexual assault and risk of injury to a minor, with sentencing scheduled for November 19 in Hartford.
   

5. East Hartford woman accused of stealing from CT Medicaid by submitting untruthful time sheets (fox61.com) — A Medicaid fraud case tied to Connecticut's Adult Family Living Waiver program is moving through Manchester Superior Court, where an East Hartford woman faces larceny and health insurance fraud charges. Prosecutors say she improperly collected over $18,000 by submitting false time sheets, and each felony count could bring up to 20 years in prison if she's convicted.
