MANSFIELD, CT — A 41-year-old Windham man has been charged with fifth-degree larceny and interfering with police amid accusations that he took an expensive cell phone that was left on a table at a summer camp.

The incident took place on July 31 at Camp Mansfield and the man was arrested via a warrant on Oct. 12, records show.

When the iPhone 16 was reported missing, its tracker "pinged" at the man's residence, according to a warrant. When state police asked the campers at the home if the phone might be there, the answer was "no" and the tracking was suddenly turned off, according to a warrant.
