Mansfield Winter Parking Ban In Effect, With Towing For Violations
Overnight restrictions cover town roads and municipal parking areas, including Downtown Storrs streets.
Mansfield's winter parking ban is in effect. Overnight restrictions run from midnight to 6 a.m. from Sunday, Nov. 1, 2026, through Thursday, April 15, 2027, with additional restrictions whenever snow or ice accumulates.
The reminder quotes Section 182-3 of Mansfield's Motor Vehicle & Parking Ordinance: “No motor vehicle shall be parked on any public highway under the jurisdiction of the Town of Mansfield, or in any area designated as a municipal parking area, between the hours of midnight and 6:00 a.m., from November 1 through April 15; or at all times when there is any accumulation of snow or ice on said highways or parking areas.” Covered on-street parking in Downtown Storrs includes Storrs Road, Dog Lane, Elsie Marsh Way, Royce Circle and Wilbur Cross Way.
On-street parking during winter storms must not impede traffic or snow removal, according to the reminder. Cars violating the ban or impeding plowing operations will be towed.
