2-Alarm Fire Displaces 17 People, Cat Rescued In Meriden: Reports
One firefighter was hospitalized after battling a 2-alarm fire that displaced 17 residents in Meriden, according to reports.
MERIDEN, CT — An overnight two-alarm fire displaced 17 people from their homes Wednesday in Meriden, according to multiple reports.
The Record-Journal reported the fire broke out around 12:30 a.m. on the third floor of a multi-family home in the 400 block of East Main Street.
One firefighter was hospitalized for overexertion and was released later on Wednesday, according to FOX 61.

A cat was rescued inside the building and needed to be resuscitated, the Record-Journal reported.
FOX 61 reported another firefighter was evaluated at the scene for a possible injury, but continued working.
