Man Charged In Sexual Assault Of Minor: Meriden Police

Police said the man was arrested after a thorough investigation.

MERIDEN, CT — A man has been arrested in connection with the sexual assault of a minor, according to police.

Police said that after a thorough investigation that started on Nov. 25, 2024, an arrest warrant was obtained for 38-year-old Jerry Santiago.

Santiago, who turned himself in on April 30, was charged with one count of first-degree sexual assault and two counts of risk of injury to a minor. He was held in lieu of a $400,000 bond.

“We at the Meriden Police Department are wholeheartedly committed to protecting children,” police wrote in a news release. “We understand the impact of these crimes, and we work with partner agencies to help provide services to the affected victims and their families. We appreciate the victim’s bravery and cooperation in this case which likely resulted in the prevention of future crimes against children. It is the policy of the Meriden Police Department to fully investigate every allegation of crimes against children that is brought to our organization.”
