• 2 Meriden Residents Charged In Illegal Fishing Case In West Haven: Police (patch.com) — Two Meriden residents face multiple commercial fishing charges after environmental police say they illegally harvested nearly 100 oysters and kept undersized flounder and blue crabs in West Haven harbor. Officers acted on complaints from boaters about dangerous nets, confiscated the gear, and donated the seized catch to a raptor rehabilitation center, while urging the public to report suspected fish and wildlife violations.
   

• Convicted Felon Arrested On Gun, Drug Charges After Foot Chase: Meriden PD (patch.com) — Meriden police arrested convicted felon Joshua Kelly after a brief foot chase tied to an August incident where a bullet traveled between apartments, raising safety concerns for residents. Officers say they recovered a stolen gun, high-capacity magazine, and suspected fentanyl and crack cocaine, and emphasized their commitment to aggressively targeting illegal firearms and narcotics in Meriden neighborhoods.
   

• Man charged with setting motorcycle on fire in Wallingford (wtnh.com) — A Massachusetts man has been arrested in connection with an Aug. 24 motorcycle fire on Cherry Street in nearby Wallingford and is now headed to Meriden Superior Court on Sept. 14. Investigators say surveillance footage and physical evidence led to arson and criminal mischief charges, closing the case and moving it into the local court system.
