Abendour said that being director of Music at First Church in Milford was his first full-time job in music ministry.

"We made lots of exciting music and I made my share of rookie mistakes, handled with grace, understanding, and good humor by the parishioners of this wonderful church," he said. "First Church has a proud heritage of fine music ministry, beginning long before I arrived, and continuing undiminished today."

He said he's "excited and privileged to be able to return to make music with many old and dear friends, and I look forward to watching Yennie Kwon lead the choir."

The program will include music from "The Phantom of the Opera," Harry Potter, "The Nightmare Before Christmas," "Wicked," and other Halloween favorites, along with dramatic organ selections and "a touch of spooky atmosphere."

The concert is at the First United Church of Christ on Oct. 30 at 7:30 p.m. Costumes are encouraged.

Tickets are $20 for adults, $10 for seniors and children under 12.
