More than 170 vendors fill the Milford Green for the Artisan Market, and the Firehouse Gallery's portrait show closes Sunday.

MILFORD, CT — The Milford Green turns into a two-day craft fair this weekend, while the Firehouse Gallery's portrait show wraps up and a pair of local theater founders share stories at the library, from Thursday, Oct. 15, through Sunday, Oct. 18.

  • 10th Annual Milford Artisan Market — Saturday, Oct. 17, and Sunday, Oct. 18, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. More than 170 local vendors sell jewelry, pottery, paintings, woodworking and gourmet foods, with live music, free yoga each morning, children's activities, artist demonstrations and food vendors; admission is free. • "Lessons from the Stage" with Gary Scarpa — Saturday, Oct. 17, 1 p.m. Scarpa and his wife, Francesca, who founded Center Stage Theater in Shelton and have staged shows for 43 years, discuss his new book and their memories of local theater. Milford Public Library, 57 New Haven Avenue
  • "The Face Before You" — Saturday, Oct. 17, and Sunday, Oct. 18, noon to 4 p.m.; the show's final weekend. The Milford Arts Council's portrait exhibit asks artists to witness their subjects rather than idealize them. Firehouse Gallery, 81 Naugatuck Avenue
