What does this community leader do?
Ashley was directly involved with creating Milford Food 2 Kids as an initiative of First United Church of Christ, Milford, in collaboration with CT Food Bank, and in partnership with schools and individuals, civic organizations, communities of faith and other groups in Milford. She attends to the needs of local children who have little or no food during the weekend away from school.
Why do you believe the community leader should be recognized or honored?
Ashley Grant is authentic in her desire to make the world a better place to be and she's actually doing that. She is kind, caring and persistent in her efforts. She sees a need and responds to it while offering others the ability to be of service as well.
What's one thing you want everyone to know about the community hero?
Ashley truly cares about people who are marginalized and her life's work is proof of that. She is tireless in her pursuit of equality and inclusion.
