Davies, Miller, Morris: Recent Death Notices From Montville

MONTVILLE, CT — Recent death notices from Montville.

Susan Jane (Eccleston) Morris, 78, of Uncasville, died Oct. 5 at Backus Hospital. Born in Norwich, she worked for many years as a licensed practical nurse at Norwichtown Rehabilitation & Healthcare. Her husband, Monroe O. Morris IV, died before her; she is survived by her sister, Elizabeth J. Rice, her daughter, Hope A. Kidd, her son, Christopher P. Ballestrini, and two grandchildren.

Elaine A. Miller, 83, of Uncasville, died Sept. 29. A 1961 graduate of Norwich Free Academy, she worked at several local banks before retiring from Connecticut College in 2004, and belonged to the Montville Senior Center. She is survived by her husband, Richard A. Miller, her son, Brian, and a granddaughter, Brooke.

Donald Richard Davies, 57, of Montville, died Sept. 28. He grew up in Montville and played football at Montville High School. He is survived by his wife, Lisa Davies, his daughter, Tori Davies, his sons, Garrett and Connor Zarrella, a brother and two sisters.

Philip "Phil" Marshall Eakin, 67, of Uncasville, died Sept. 28 at home. Born in Washington, Pa., he moved to Connecticut in 2005 and spent much of his career as a millwright at Dow Chemical. He is survived by his wife, Amy Eakin, three children, three brothers and five grandchildren.
