Police Investigating Mail Removed From Mailboxes, Discarded In Naugatuck: PD

NAUGATUCK, CT — Police are investigating two recent incidents involving mail removed from mailboxes in Naugatuck, the department announced Sunday.

In a Facebook post, police said both incidents involved mail that was removed from residential mailboxes and discarded during overnight hours.

According to police, the incidents occurred in the areas of Maple Hill Road, Horton Hill Road, Red Robin Road, May Street and Mulberry Street.

Police said residents in these neighborhoods and throughout Naugatuck are encouraged to retrieve their mail as soon as possible after delivery, avoid leaving outgoing mail in their mailboxes overnight and consider using locking mailboxes.

Anyone with home security footage showing suspicious individuals or vehicles accessing mailboxes overnight, specifically over the weekend, is asked to contact the Naugatuck Police Department at 203-729-5222, or the department's confidential tip line at 203-720-1010.
