Utility crews were still assessing damage into the evening, with Eversource reporting most local disruptions tied to fallen limbs after severe weather swept through Fairfield County. 
• Daniel Hand, Branford advance in Class M girls lacrosse to set up All-SCC final (newstimes.com) — New Fairfield’s powerhouse girls lacrosse team saw its run end Tuesday, falling 13-10 to Branford in the Class M semifinals after being shut out in the first quarter. The Rebels mounted a late comeback but couldn’t erase Branford’s dominant third period, ending a streak of eight straight state final appearances and seven titles since 2017.
• Foreclosure auction canceled for Orange first selectman's home, court records show (nhregister.com) — New Fairfield readers may recall that First Selectman Melissa Lindsey previously avoided a foreclosure auction by catching up on her mortgage just before the sale date. A similar situation has now unfolded in Orange, where First Selectman Jim Zeoli’s scheduled foreclosure auction was canceled after he paid what was owed, according to court records.
