Connecticut foundation fights New Canaan over affordable housing denial (ctpost.com) — A charitable foundation is suing New Canaan's Planning & Zoning Commission after its plan for 14 affordable apartments on Parade Hill Road was unanimously denied. New Canaan Man, 42, Screamed at Ex-Wife During Domestic Incident Downtown (newcanaanite.com) — New Canaan police arrested a 42-year-old local man after an August 14 confrontation downtown in which witnesses say he threatened and blocked his ex-wife outside Main Street businesses, including Gofer Ice Cream. He faces multiple charges, remains free on a promise to appear, and is under a protective order, while local and regional domestic-violence resources are highlighted for anyone needing confidential help.
   

4. Archtober, New York City's architecture and design festival, launches 16th edition with newsstand collaboration (bustler.net) — New Canaan residents can look forward to special fall architecture events at The Glass House and Grace Farms, including a September 24 dinner with architect Liz Diller and an October 24 founders' talk. These programs, tied to New York's Archtober festival, invite locals to explore how design, landscape, and community values shape the town's most celebrated cultural campuses.
   

5. New Pool House on Turner Hill Designed by Town Resident, Local Architect (newcanaanite.com) — A New Canaan resident is building a new two-level pool house at 96 Turner Hill Road, designed by local architect Mark Markiewicz and permitted by the town's Building Department. The $235,000 structure, paired with a proposed inground pool, is intended to complement the property's mid-century main house and reflects ongoing high-end residential investment in town.
