New Haven Man, 21, Victim Of Sunday Predawn Valley Street Drive-By Walks Into Hospital: NHPD

NEW HAVEN, CT—It was just before 5 a.m. Sunday when police were called to the St. Raphael campus of Yale New Haven Hospital for the report of a walk-in gunshot victim.

A 21-year-old New Haven man, taken to the hospital in a private vehicle, told police that he was standing at his car in the area of Valley and Emerson streets when a "car drove by, he heard a pop, and realized he had been shot," police said. The man's injuries were non-life-threatening, they added.

Detectives canvassed the area but were unable to locate a crime scene, police posted on "X."
