Parents demand answers over mold at Connecticut school (ctpost.com) — Parents in New Haven are pressing school officials for immediate action on mold, leaks, and damaged ceilings at James Hillhouse High School, questioning whether the building is safe for students. City leaders insist schools are safe to open, while outlining roof repair plans funded by an $8.7 million state grant and promising mold testing and remediation in affected classrooms.
   

2. As other CT towns hit pause, New Haven presses ahead with traffic cameras (nhregister.com) — New Haven is moving ahead with activating seven automated traffic cameras on Sept. 15, launching a 30-day warning period before fines begin. City leaders argue the red-light and speed cameras are vital for safety near schools and busy intersections, even as the governor and other Connecticut towns push for a pause over privacy and data concerns.
   

3. Man arrested after pedestrian hit-and-run: New Haven police (fox61.com) — New Haven police have arrested an 18-year-old in connection with a hit-and-run at East Shore Park that left a 30-year-old New Haven man seriously injured during late-night stunt driving. Officers are using the case to warn residents that street takeovers and reckless driving will bring strong enforcement and high bonds for anyone endangering the community.
   

4. New Haven newspaper relaunches, plans to bring community to tech-heavy society (wtnh.com) — A group of veteran journalists is relaunching the New Haven Advocate as a print newspaper, aiming to reconnect residents in an increasingly tech-heavy world. With its first new issue hitting Elm City streets next week, the team plans to hand-deliver copies across neighborhoods and revive the paper's long tradition of local storytelling and advocacy.
