3. Motorcyclist critically injured after crashing into New Haven pond, police say (nhregister.com) — A 35-year-old Hamden man is in critical condition after his motorcycle left Ella T. Grasso Boulevard near Crescent Street in New Haven and plunged into a pond by Southern Connecticut State University's athletic fields. Bystanders and emergency crews pulled him from the water before he was taken to Yale New Haven Hospital. Police accident reconstruction specialists are investigating the early-morning crash.

AG, Valedictorian Connect Over Sanctuary Kitchen Lunch (newhavenindependent.org) — At Sanctuary Kitchen on Legion Avenue, state Attorney General William Tong shared lunch with New Haven valedictorian Razia Assadi and her mother Homa, celebrating their immigrant journey and local achievements. New Haven couple forced to find new wedding venue after Lighthouse Point Park storm damage (fox61.com) — New Haven officials say storm damage has shut down the historic Lighthouse Point Park Carousel House, canceling at least 11 weddings and forcing one local couple to scramble for a new venue before their late-September date. Sarah Nickolas and Daniel Leonard are now eyeing an alternative site in Manchester while juggling last-minute logistics like tents and a dance floor, but they're determined to keep their New Haven-centered celebration on schedule.
