Yale Police Officer Accused Of Illegally Collecting $36K In Workers Comp Benefits: Chief State's Attorney (patch.com) — New Haven residents are learning that a Yale University police officer, Warren Palmer, has been charged with fraudulently collecting more than $38,000 in workers' compensation benefits. State authorities allege he exceeded his medical restrictions and could have returned to full duty, and he is scheduled to appear in New Haven Superior Court on September 29.

With similar spikes reported statewide, officials are urging New Haven-area families to prioritize helmets, road awareness, and local safety programs before children ride to class or around town.

New Haven man used fake ID to steal $27K from Ridgefield resident, police say (nhregister.com) — A New Haven resident has been charged in connection with an alleged identity‑theft scheme that took $27,000 from a Ridgefield resident's bank account, according to police. Investigators say the man used a forged ID and withdrawal slips at New York bank branches, and he remains in custody as separate fraud charges from Derby police are still pending in state court.

(danburycountry.com) — Longtime locals will remember The Moon in New Haven as a tiny, loud club where alternative music fans packed in for bands like Nirvana and nights of Cure and Violent Femmes singalongs.
