UPDATE: Investigation Underway After 17-Year-Old Shot Friday Morning On Dixwell Avenue: NHPD
Around 8:30 a.m., police reported they were called to the 200-block of Dixwell Avenue for a report of a gunshot victim: NHPD

NEW HAVEN, CT — Update, 1 p.m.:
Police were notified at around 8:30 a.m. via a ShotSpotter notification and 911 calls that a person had been shot.
When police arrived, they located the victim, later identified as a 17-year-old boy from Torrington. He was transported to Yale New Haven Hospital and is currently in critical condition, police spokesperson Officer Christian Bruckhart said.

Around 8:20 a.m., officers were called to the 200-block of the busy thoroughfare for the report of a gunshot victim, police spokesperson Officer Christian Bruckhart said.
That section of Dixwell is between Charles and Webster streets.
No other details were immediately available.
