• New Milford approves church boardwalk project to help Sherman girl earn coveted Eagle Scout rank (stamfordadvocate.com) — New Milford's wetlands commission has cleared a Sherman teen to build a simple wooden boardwalk over a muddy section of trail behind Walnut Hill Community Church, helping her pursue the Eagle Scout rank. The volunteer-built project will span about 48 feet, improving year-round access for church youth and members along Town Farm Brook, where other local Scout improvements have recently been completed.

• Fundraiser launched to honor New Milford football coach who died from rare lung disease (newstimes.com) — A New Milford family is asking the community's help to give beloved longtime youth and high school coach Terry "Chipper" Flynn a proper farewell after his death from a rare lung disease. A GoFundMe has already raised more than $11,000 as former players and neighbors share memories of his decades of coaching, DOT work, and deep involvement in local sports and family life.
