Jones's overall liability remains over a billion dollars, largely from a separate Connecticut case, and the families have yet to receive any payments despite his media business shrinking.

Jones still owes about $1.4 billion from Connecticut-related cases over his false claims about the tragedy at Sandy Hook Elementary School.
