Families, staff, and community members without children can all weigh in on what qualities they want in district leadership before the survey closes near the end of September.

• City council approves additional funding for Veterans Park dock replacement (nancyonnorwalk.com) — Norwalk's City Council has approved extra funding to finish the delayed dock replacement at Veterans Park and refunded deposits to boaters who expected slips this summer. The council also backed a major grant-funded design contract to reimagine the park's interior, aiming to boost flood resilience, improve Long Island Sound habitat, and expand public access and community engagement.

• More than 4,000 abandoned lobster traps removed from Long Island Sound (wtnh.com) — Norwalk's Maritime Aquarium is spotlighting a major cleanup effort that has pulled more than 4,000 abandoned lobster traps and 200,000 pounds of debris from Long Island Sound since 2022. Working with scientists, nonprofits, and lobstermen, the L-TRAP partnership is cutting down on "ghost fishing" while gathering data to better protect marine life and local waters Norwalk residents enjoy.
