• Nearly 200 Abandoned Vehicles Towed In Norwalk This Year: Police (patch.com) — Norwalk police have already towed nearly 200 abandoned vehicles this year and are stepping up enforcement against inoperable cars that clog streets and hurt neighborhood appearance. Residents are encouraged to report problem vehicles so officers can investigate and, if needed, tow them after 24 hours, helping keep Norwalk's streets safer and parking more available.
   

• Bridge work in Connecticut to lead to some Amtrak corridor cancelations (turnto10.com) — Rail work on a railroad bridge over the Norwalk River will force Amtrak to cancel or adjust several Northeast Corridor trips over five of the next eight weekends. Crews will remove massive cables and two 234-foot utility towers in Norwalk, and while the project should finish by early November, riders are urged to check schedules closely before traveling.
