• Norwalk Public Schools Announces District's Nominee For 2027 CT Teacher Of The Year (patch.com) — Norwalk readers can celebrate longtime Marvin Elementary teacher Michelle Suda, who has been chosen as Norwalk Public Schools' nominee for the 2027 Connecticut Teacher of the Year. After three decades serving local students, Suda was honored as the 2026 NPS Teacher of the Year and shared an inspiring message about belonging and student potential at the district's annual convocation.
   

• City Provides Lifeguard Updates For Norwalk Beaches (patch.com) — Norwalk beachgoers are being advised that Calf Pasture and Shady beaches will have no weekday lifeguard coverage as summer winds down, though weekend lifeguards remain through Labor Day. The city notes that first aid services are still available weekdays at the lifeguard station, helping residents plan safer visits to the shoreline.
   

• Norwalk Police Department Swears In 2 New Officers (patch.com) — Norwalk residents will see two new faces in uniform as Officer Thomas Smalls transfers in from Torrington and begins in-house training, while Probationary Officer Samantha Ponce heads to the Milford Police Academy. Both have been officially sworn in by Norwalk police commissioners and are preparing to serve the local community in the years ahead.
