Then it suddenly closed (newstimes.com) — Plainville residents are grappling with the sudden cancellation of a national memorial ceremony meant to honor firefighter Raymond “Ray” Moreau, who died in the line of duty last July. Local fire officials and state Rep. Rebecca Martinez are pushing to reopen the National Fallen Firefighters Memorial and restore the ceremony, while remembering Moreau’s decades of service and deep roots in Plainville.
