• Ridgefield Leaf Blower Proposal Draws Sharp Debate Ahead Of Sept. 16 Town Meeting (patch.com) — Ridgefield residents, landscapers and environmental advocates are clashing over a proposed ordinance that would tightly restrict gas-powered leaf blower use, with fines for repeat violations starting in 2027. Speakers at a Sept. 2 hearing also weighed in on exemptions for golf courses, enforcement by town officials, and related town matters ahead of a key Sept. 16 town meeting at East Ridge Middle School.

• Popular Popcorn Brand Recalled Over Missing Ingredient Disclosure (dailyvoice.com) — A Ridgefield-based maker of Belgian Chocolate Toffee Prospector Popcorn has recalled 140 bags because soy was not properly listed as an ingredient, which could affect people with allergies. The 3.5-ounce bags were sold in Connecticut and New York, with specific UPC and expiration dates, and the FDA says the recall is now completed. Local shoppers should double-check any bags at home.
