Ridgefield Arts Council Elects New Officers, Confirms Funding For 2027 Scholarship
Ridgefield Arts Council appointed a co-chair and secretary, confirmed 2027 scholarship funding and approved next year's meeting schedule.
RIDGEFIELD, CT — The Ridgefield Arts Council unanimously approved two leadership appointments at its October meeting, naming Anna Ciamporcero co-chair and Joe Collin secretary, while confirming that sufficient funding is available to award its 2027 scholarship without holding another fundraiser this year.
The council also approved its 2027 meeting schedule and discussed membership vacancies, next year's budget request and plans for community arts programming.
According to the draft minutes, Jennifer Dineen moved to appoint Ciamporcero co-chair, effective immediately. Raje Kaur seconded the motion, which passed unanimously.

Pamme Jones then moved to appoint Collin secretary beginning in January 2027. Ciamporcero seconded, and the motion also passed unanimously.
The council discussed its remaining treasurer vacancy and the need to recruit additional members as it manages a reduced membership and prepares for leadership transitions.

Members emphasized documenting council procedures to preserve continuity. They also discussed using the town newsletter to encourage residents interested in the arts to consider joining the council.
A council member will follow up with the town and prepare a proposed newsletter announcement.
Scholarship Funding Secured For 2027
The council confirmed that sufficient money is available for its 2027 scholarship, eliminating the need for a fundraiser during the current year.
Members plan to review possible dates in October 2027 for fundraising activities that would support the following year's scholarship.
Arts Programming And Banner Schedule
The council reviewed its tentative 2027 banner schedule and expects to distribute a final version within two weeks of the meeting.
Members also discussed plans for the 2027 Behind the Scenes event, including possible dates, times and locations.
More specific proposals are expected at the council's next meeting.
The council will also review its current budget line items and consider adjustments before submitting its fiscal 2027-28 budget request.
No budget amount was approved during the meeting.
Council Reviews Subscription Costs
Members discussed management of the council's digital accounts, including Google Drive, Zoom Pro, Canva and Constant Contact.
The council plans to designate a member to oversee subscriptions and submit invoices for payment.
Members also agreed to research alternative email platforms to determine whether a less expensive service is available.
The treasurer's report identified one expense associated with the fall EADR event, with a receipt still to be submitted. Members were reminded to submit expenses promptly.
2027 Meeting Schedule Approved
The council unanimously approved its 2027 meeting dates following a motion by Jones, seconded by Kaur. The approved dates will be submitted to Town Hall.
Members also approved their September meeting minutes without opposition.
The October meeting adjourned at 8:18 p.m. following a unanimous vote on a motion by Kaur, seconded by Tracey Bryggman. The council's next meeting is scheduled for Nov. 4 at 7:15 p.m.
