Officers and emergency crews provided immediate medical aid before the child was taken to a local hospital in stable condition. Because of the seriousness of the collision, the Mid-State Accident Reconstruction Squad is now investigating what caused the crash.

High school volleyball coach, restaurant owner charged with DUI after deadly pedestrian crash (hawaiinewsnow.com) — A Rocky Hill high school volleyball coach and local restaurant owner has been charged with DUI after a Sunday night crash on Glastonbury Avenue that killed 65-year-old pedestrian Miguel Collado. Town officials and neighbors describe longstanding safety concerns on the sidewalk-less road, and the coach has been placed on administrative leave while a proposed sidewalk project for the area is under consideration.

Warrant details events before Rocky Hill woman's fatal stabbing (theridgefieldpress.com) — Rocky Hill residents are learning more about the August 22 stabbing death of Jacqueline Matthews, a 59-year-old mother of five, through newly released arrest warrant details. Police describe her final moments at her Concord Drive condo, prior domestic violence allegations involving suspect Michael Ranger, and his later arrest in New York, with a court appearance set for September 17.
