Rocky Hill Seeks Feedback On Silas Deane Highway Safety Options

A survey open through Sunday, Nov. 22, asks about bike lanes, roundabouts, pedestrian crossings and other Route 99 changes.

Rocky Hill residents can weigh in on proposed Silas Deane Highway safety improvements through 11:59 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 22, according to the project's survey page. The Town of Rocky Hill is inviting residents, business owners, commuters and other interested people to participate.

The Safe Streets and Roads for All corridor study covers Route 99 from Parsonage Street in Rocky Hill through Wethersfield to the Hartford boundary. Wethersfield is partnering with Rocky Hill, the Connecticut Department of Transportation and the Capital Region Council of Governments on the federally funded study.

The survey asks about bicycle lanes, pedestrian crossings, physical medians, driveway access changes and transit improvements. Options near Rocky Hill include a roundabout at Parsonage Street, a separate bicycle and pedestrian path along the highway's eastern side and extending existing streetscape improvements north.
