4 Arrested On Prostitution-Related Charges After Undercover Investigation At Shelton Spas: Police

SHELTON, CT — Four New York women were recently arrested on prostitution-related charges following an undercover investigation in Shelton, police announced Wednesday.

In a news release, Police Det. Sgt. Colin Bitsco said the department's detective bureau, in partnership with the Connecticut State Police Statewide Organized Crime Task Force, recently concluded a joint undercover investigation "targeting prostitution and commercial sexual exploitation" at massage businesses in Shelton.

According to Bitsco, officers executed search warrants at QQ Spa, located on Howe Avenue, and Yama Massage, located on River Road, following undercover operations conducted over several weeks by detectives.

The investigation resulted in the arrests of Yue Mei Gao, 49, Mei Li Huang, 55, Hui-Zhi Yang, 57, and Zhimin Zhu, 50, all of New York, according to Bitsco.

Officers also seized evidence and money "believed to be associated with the illegal operation of the businesses," Bitsco said.

All four women were charged with prostitution, permitting prostitution and third-degree promoting prostitution.

They were each released on non-surety bonds and are scheduled to appear in court, according to Bitsco.
