Labor Day Trash, Recycling Schedule Released For Shelton

SHELTON, CT — The city and police have released trash and recycling collection information for the Labor Day holiday, which falls on Monday, Sept. 7, this year.

According to the Shelton Police Department's Facebook page, there will be no trash or recycling collection on Labor Day, and collection for that day will be delayed one day.

For the rest of that week, residents are asked to put their trash and recycling out on their regular collection day, the department's post notes.

"If it is not picked up that day, it will be collected the following day," the post reads.

The city's transfer station and the Shelton City Yard will be closed Sept. 7 and will reopen the following day, according to the post.
