Michael P. Ferreira, 75, of Shelton, CT, beloved husband of Diane (Hayden) Ferreira, passed away on April 1, 2026. Born on July 13, 1950 in Fall River, MA, he was the son of the late Antone and Phoebe (Abren) Ferreira.

Michael affectionately known as “Tweege” by many was born in Fall River and raised in Swansea, MA. A 1968 graduate of Joseph Case High School and a graduate of St. Anselm’s College, he became an insurance agent and agency owner, always working hard. Known for his quiet strength and selflessness, Michael received the Carnegie Hero Commission Bronze Medal for Bravery as a teenager, along with two other men, for saving the life of a man trapped in a burning car. Outside of work he was very passionate about everything, from being on the Derby-Shelton Rotary Club, the board of the Summerfield Gardens, out on the course playing golf, going for jogs, or soaking up the sun laying by the pool. His family will remember him most for his quick wit, endless jokes, and the playful songs and jingles he made up that brought laughter and light to everyone around him.

Other than his beloved wife Diane, Michael is also survived by his daughter Alexandra (Tiffany) Ferreira, siblings Tony (Chris) Ferreira, Joe (Betty) Ferreira, and Bernadette (the late Sim) Hawes. Michael is also survived by his in-laws, Steven (Debby) Hayden, Lisa (Bob) Stobierski, and Patrick (Diane) Hayden, along with many nieces and nephews.
