• Thomas A. Beatrice (newhavenindependent.org) — Shelton is mourning the passing of Thomas A. Beatrice, a 98-year-old former longtime resident who was born in Shelton and later worked many years at Farrel Corporation in nearby Ansonia. A Navy veteran of World War II and the Korean Conflict, he was known for his love of history, gardening, and community involvement before spending his final years near family in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania.
