• Alexander Pearl Gets First SK Modified Victory Of 2026 At Stafford Speedway (racedayct.com) — A local connection popped up at Stafford Speedway as SK Modified driver Andrew Molleur of Shelton placed seventh in Friday night's feature race, where Alexander Pearl grabbed his first 2026 win. The packed card also saw repeat winners across Late Model, SK Light, Limited Late Model, and Street Stock divisions, giving area race fans plenty to follow this season.
   

• Shelton man found dead Monday known for coin collecting, coaching and culinary talents (nhregister.com) — Shelton is mourning 73-year-old Christopher Taylor, a longtime resident remembered for his love of family, coin collecting, fishing, and years of coaching local youth sports and scouting. Police say he was found dead Monday after a multiagency search, with the medical examiner assisting the ongoing investigation. His obituary highlights his culinary career and invites memorial donations to Huntington Fire & Rescue Co. No. 3 in Shelton.
