Simsbury Historical Society Announces October Lineup Of History Walks, Colonial Events

SIMSBURY, CT — From Revolutionary-era history to a spooky colonial tale, the Simsbury Historical Society has announced a series of history-focused programs and activities for October.

The society said its fall lineup combines local history, outdoor activities, and seasonal programming.

Upcoming events include:

• History Walk at St. Alban's Church Property: Ethel Walker School archivist Kim Harris-Thacker will lead walks exploring the history of the St. Alban's Church property and its connection to the school. Walks are scheduled for Thursday, Oct. 8, from 10:30 a.m. to noon and Friday, Oct. 9, from 6 to 7 p.m. Participants should park and meet in the church parking lot. The walks will be held rain or shine.
• "Murder at 3 Corner Pond: A Colonial Tale": Local playwright Betsy Maguire's play will be performed at the Simsbury Historical Society's Meeting House. Opening night is sold out, but the society said tickets were still available for performances Oct. 23, 24 and 25. Tickets at this link.
