New Farm-To-Table Restaurant Opens In Southbury

SOUTHBURY, CT — A new farm-to-table restaurant has opened in Southbury, bringing everything from Hudson Valley duck and Maine lobster to prime steaks and gourmet burgers to Main Street.

Farmers Tavern recently opened at 730 Main Street South. The restaurant began serving customers Aug. 4 and is currently open for dinner beginning at 4 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday.

The restaurant describes its approach as “fresh from local hands to your table,” with a menu that highlights the origins of a number of its ingredients. Those include exotic mushrooms from Stewart's Farm, Hudson Valley duck, Georges Bank sea scallops, Faroe Island salmon and Maine lobster.

The dinner menu includes a prime New York strip, pork chop, duck breast, steak and chips, pan-seared scallops, branzino and salmon, along with seafood pasta, burgers and flatbreads.

A raw bar offers East and West Coast oysters, littleneck clams, shrimp cocktail and lobster cocktail. Diners can also order a seafood tower with oysters, shrimp, clams, ceviche, lobster and lump crabmeat.

Farmers Tavern is currently open Tuesday through Saturday for dinner beginning at 4 p.m. Reservations are suggested and can be made by phone.
