Units arrived to find a two-story residential home with smoke and fire showing from the second floor, according to the SFD.

First-arriving crews forced entry into the home and conducted a primary search for victims.

Firefighters located the blaze in a second-floor bedroom extending into the attic.

Crews stretched a hose line and were able to stop the fire from spreading further into the home, the SFD said.

Mutual aid crews from Bristol, Meriden, and New Britain assisted with search, ventilation and rapid intervention operations. AMR provided medical coverage at the scene.

During initial operations, the home’s service wire burned away and fell onto crews advancing a hose line, the SFD reported.

No firefighters were injured, and no equipment was damaged. Eversource Electric was called to address the downed wires.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation by the Southington Fire Marshal’s Office.

Fire coverage in town during the incident was provided by the Plainville and Cheshire fire departments.
