Grants Available For Southington Nonprofits
The Main Street Community Foundation, which serves Southington among other towns, is now accepting applications.
SOUTHINGTON, CT — The Main Street Community Foundation has opened its annual general grant cycle, with applications due March 27.
The Bristol-based foundation is inviting nonprofit organizations serving Bristol, Burlington, Plainville, Plymouth, Southington, and Wolcott to apply.
Grant proposals must fall within three program areas: basic needs, access to opportunity, and vibrant communities. They must benefit residents in the foundation’s service area.

In addition to its primary funding priorities, the foundation has designated funds available for specific uses, including the care and support of animals; sports field maintenance in Bristol and Burlington; programs and projects benefiting the Burlington community; and non-sport, noncompetitive programs and activities for elementary and middle school students in Southington.
Organizations interested in applying must review eligibility requirements and application guidelines on the foundation’s website and are required to contact Whitney Shufelt, director of grants and programs, or Alicia Krar, grants manager, for a preliminary discussion at least one week before the deadline.

The Main Street Community Foundation, established in 1995, works with donors to build permanent charitable endowments supporting local communities.
Since its founding, the foundation has awarded more than $33.6 million in grants and scholarships.
