Home Damaged By Fire In Southington Thursday Night
The SFD is investigating the cause of the blaze, which started in the basement.
SOUTHINGTON, CT — Local firefighters are investigating the cause of a house fire that badly damaged a residence on Wilton Road Thursday night.
According to the Southington Fire Department, firefighters at 10:10 p.m. were dispatched to 84 Wilton Road for a report of a smoke condition inside the house.
Shortly thereafter, the SFD said, the department received calls from the homeowner indicating fire was in the walls of the house.

When early crews arrived, they reported an active basement fire, and additional units were called.
Eventually, the fire was put out with minimal extension to the rest of the house, and no injuries were reported.

The SFD said they were assisted by mutual aid from the Bristol Fire Department, with town coverage provided by the New Britain, Plainville, and Cheshire fire departments.
The Southignton Fire Marshal's Office is currently investigating the cause of the fire.
