• 2 Injured After Route 5 Crash In South Windsor (patch.com) — Emergency crews in South Windsor responded Thursday afternoon to a serious two-car crash on Route 5 at Pleasant Valley Road that sent two people to local hospitals. The southbound right lane of John Fitch Boulevard was blocked as firefighters, police and EMS worked the scene and transported both patients, though officials have not yet released details on their injuries.

• New Safety Measures Planned After 9-Vehicle I-291 Crash (patch.com) — South Windsor drivers are being warned about ongoing backups and new safety steps on I-291 near the Bissell Bridge after a nine-vehicle crash injured six people. State Sen. Saud Anwar says transportation officials plan added warning signs, speed indicators and work-zone speed cameras as westbound traffic remains squeezed to one lane between South Windsor and Windsor during the long-term bridge rehabilitation.
