Truck Rollover Closes I-291 Ramp To I-91 South

SOUTH WINDSOR, CT — The ramp from Interstate 291 westbound to Interstate 91 southbound was closed Monday afternoon after a tractor-trailer rolled over and spilled diesel, according to the South Windsor Fire Department.

The driver got out of the truck without help and suffered minor injuries, fire officials said. The department issued its traffic alert at 12:45 p.m.

The ramp remained closed in that alert while crews worked to clean up the diesel spill and remove the truck. Connecticut State Police, the Ambulance Service of Manchester, the state Department of Energy and Environmental Protection and the state Department of Transportation also responded.

Officials had not provided an estimated reopening time.
