Date Set For 2026 Stamford St. Patrick's Day Parade, Grand Marshal Recently Honored
Organizers say the Stamford event is the largest St. Patrick's Day parade in Fairfield County.
STAMFORD, CT — The Irish American Cultural Society of Stamford (IACSOS) will hold its annual Stamford St. Patrick's Day parade on Saturday, March 7.
Scheduled to begin at 1 p.m., the parade will feature more than 100 community marching units, pipe bands, dancers, and school organizations. Organizers say it is the largest St. Patrick's Day parade in Fairfield County.
The parade will begin near the Stamford Police Headquarters at the corner of Hoyt Street and Bedford Street. The route will continue down Bedford Street and onto Main Street where it will conclude near Washington Boulevard.

IACSOS hosted its annual St. Patric's Grand Marshal Dinner on Feb. 21 at the Italian Center in Stamford to honor this year's grand marshal, Daniel P. Brennan.
Brennan, a partner at Brennan & Vlahakis Insurance Agency, is a fifth-generation Stamford native and is "a proud Irish-American," IACSOS said in a recent announcement.

His family roots trace back to his great-great-grandfather, William R.H. Brennan, who was born in Ireland in 1829 and emigrated to Stamford shortly thereafter.
William H. Brennan’s son, also named William H. Brennan, was Stamford’s second police chief, appointed by mayor Homer S. Cummings, from 1903 until his death in 1923.
Dan graduated from Stamford Catholic High School, where he was captain of the FCIAC championship football team.
Dan is an active member and past president of The State Street Debating Society and served on the board of the E. Gaynor Brennan Golf Commission, Stamford National Little League, and Kids Helping Kids. He is also a member of Woodway Country Club and enjoys golfing in his free time.
